Dana Lustig

Dana directed five feature films and produced over twenty-five independent features and two TV series.

Producing

Dana recently produced Breakwater, a dramatic thriller starring Dermot Mulroney, who won best actor for his role in the movie at the Boston FF; the movie received the audience award.

In post-production is the movie Reading Lolita in Tehran, based on the NYT bestseller, where Dana serves as an Executive Producer and on a 10-episode Docu-Reality for Reshet Channel 13.

Dana produced the movie Jungle, a true survival story starring Daniel Radcliffe shot in Colombia and Australia, and the movie Look Away, with India Eisley, Jason Isaacs, and Mira Sorvino, and has served as an Executive Producer on the movie Spider In the Web with Ben Kingsley and Monica Bellucci. Dana also produced the movie Frontier which premiered in SXSW.

In the TV world, Dana Executive Produced the second season of the mega-hit series Very Important Person, nominated for six Israeli Emmys.

Dana was a partner at Bergman Lustig Productions along with Ram Bergman for ten years. Among the movies BLP produced is Brick, directed by Rian Johnson which was nominated to the Independent Spirit Award, and Dancing At The Blue Iguana, directed by Oscar-nominated director Michael Radford.

Directing

Dana directed the dark love story A Thousand Kisses Deep, starring Jodi Whittaker ( Dr.Who) and Dougray Scott. The movie was nominated to for the British Independent Film Award. Other directing credits include the comedy Wild Cherry, with Rob Schneider and Tania Raymond and Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, wich became the highest-rated telecast for Oxygen’s original programming.

Dana also directed Kill Me Later, starring Selma Blair and Max Beesly which was included in Leonard Maltin’s prestigious list of the “Fisty Films That Got Away, Movies You Really Ought to See”. Upon it's release by Lionsgate, the Hollywood Reporter wrote, “Lustig creates the kind of films the movie world could use more of”.

Dana’s directorial debut was Wedding Bell Blues, starring John Corbett, Illeana Douglas, Julie Warner and Paulina Porizkova “…You can practically hear the sighs of the women in the audience who relate to the problems of the three heroines…”

Upcoming

Dana is working on her next film as a director, Tent, a coming-of-age story set in the Outback of Australia, inspired by legendary tent box owner Fred Brophy. She is also in the early stages of creating a Survival-themed TV series and a movie about the late Janus Korzak.

Personal

Dana was born in Israel and served in the Israeli army. She moved to Los Angeles to study at the American Film Institute, where, for the past 14 years, she has been a faculty member. Dana is a member of DGC, SAG, and PGA.

Dana is married to drummer/producer/composer Tal Bergman

She is a mother to twins Maya and Guy.
